The 12 Reasons to Love Toyota: A Christmas Carol

Car Present

With the gift-giving season upon us, we’ve been caught humming our favorite Christmas songs on more than one occasion. But you can’t hear our yuletide joy from across the internet, so here’s our spin on one of those holiday classics, “The 12 Reasons to Love Toyota.” (Sing along—you know the words.)

12 Certified Wildlife Habitat Conservation Programs

When you think “Toyota,” world-class vehicles usually come to mind; but Toyota has been helping local communities for decades. They operate 12 U.S. locations with dedicated Wildlife Habitat Council® sites, and have even donated over $1 billion to U.S. communities, nonprofits and organizations. A staggering 98% of waste from their North American plants has been diverted from landfills, and they reuse nearly 150 million gallons of water each year.

11 Consecutive Years as a Top 50 Company for Diversity

For the tenth straight year (2019), Toyota was recognized as one of the top 50 companies that prioritize diversity. In 2020, that streak should extend to 11. Toyota is committed to fostering an inclusive culture that reflects and empowers diversity in leadership; over 50% of leadership roles at Toyota are filled by minorities.

10 Year Hybrid Warranty

9 IIHS Top Safety Picks

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rewarded nine 2019-2020 Toyota models with either Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ awards. These awards are given to the safest vehicles in the country, and Toyota is proudly near the top of IIHS’s most-awarded list. Here are the new Toyota models that received IIHS’s praise:

  • Toyota Corolla hatchback
  • Toyota Corolla sedan
  • Toyota Prius
  • Toyota Prius Prime
  • Toyota Camry (TSP+)
  • Toyota Avalon (TSP+)
  • Toyota RAV4 (TSP+)
  • Toyota Highlander
  • Toyota Tacoma

8.79 MW Solar Power System

Toyota’s commitment to the environment is clear. Just see its 8.79 MW solar power system installed at the Toyota North America HQ in Plano, TX. They’re off the grid and doing just fine. Even its San Antonio manufacturing facility has a 3.1 MW solar system.

75,000 Dollars in Scholarships

Toyota sponsors Rainbow PUSH Excel to offer the Jesse L. Jackson Sr. Fellow Scholarship. This provides $75,000 to each of 10 STEM or business-field student winners; these three-year scholarships also include an internship at a Toyota facility and corresponding mentorship with a manager.

6 Million Certified Pre-Owned Toyota Models Sold

The best new cars make the best used cars, which is why over six million CPO Toyota vehicles have been sold over the last 25 years. Every certified used Toyota comes with a 12-month/12,000-mile limited comprehensive warranty, a 7-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, one year of roadside assistance and low auto financing rates. 4 All-New 2020 Models

2020 Toyota

Toyota has proudly unveiled four all-new or redesigned models for 2020.

It all starts with the fully redesigned, 12th-generation 2020 Corolla; it looks sharper, it drives better and it feels more refined on the inside, which is quite a feat considering the 2019 Corolla was so well-received. The ’20 Corolla is built on the Toyota New Global Architecture platform, which makes it more agile then models past. A new, responsive 2.0L inline-four is fitted inside higher-trim Corolla sedans, and that makes a punchy 169 horsepower. Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard, as is Wi-Fi connect, Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay.

The 2020 Toyota Corolla also comes in a savory Hybrid format (Corolla Hybrid model). It’s the first Corolla hybrid car to grace the roadways, and its biggest claim to fame is its excellent fuel economy: 53 city/52 highway mpg. The 2020 Hybrid Corolla has all the charm of the gas-powered sedan, but with some eco-conscious superlatives that make it a worthwhile buy.

The 2020 Toyota Yaris hatchback is also redesigned. Its fun-to-drive personality remains, but the Yaris has been improved significantly across the board. The Low-Speed Pre-Collision Safety System is now standard, as is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. It returns 40 mpg on the highway, features two front USB ports, and offers a large 15.9-cubic-foot cargo area.

Last but not least is the 2020 Toyota Highlander SUV, which has been redesigned from the ground up. It boasts a 17% improvement in fuel economy, the new TNGA-K platform, 8-passenger seating, the largest touchscreen in its segment (12.3″) and a hybrid option. The new Highlander will be available for sale at our Sedalia Toyota dealership this winter, but you can view our selection of 2019 Highlander models to get a good deal.

3 Decades of U.S. Manufacturing

Since 1986, Toyota has rolled more than 26 million Toyota vehicles off U.S. factory floors. More than 70% of all Toyota vehicles sold in America are built in one of the 10 U.S. manufacturing plants, which employ over 179,000 Americans.

2 Years of Free Schedule Maintenance

Most new Toyota models come with Standard Toyota Care. This complimentary plan includes normal factory-scheduled vehicle maintenance and 24-hour emergency roadside assistance for two years (or 25,000 miles, whichever is hit first). Ask our Sedalia Toyota dealership’s sales team for more details about which new Toyota vehicles include this freebie. Peace of mind is always standard when you buy Toyota.

1 Million Dollars Spent on R&D Every Hour

Toyota puts a premium on science. Every day, Toyota spends $24 million to develop new technology, enhance old processes and research ways to improve mobility on a global scale. That’s why they’re always at the forefront of the future (see: Toyota Prius’s reign as the top hybrid car for decades).
